Retro Video Gaming Events
My Special Event is pleased to offer Retro Video Gaming as an extra feature to any party (adult or child), corporate, charity event or even a wedding.
My Special Event has a large collection of retro video gaming equipment which can be hired for any occasion big or small.
Some of the equipment has been donated to us, some has been brought via various selling sites.
All equipment used is regularly tested before it is used and we do have back-ups in case of breakages or broken pieces. All electrical equipment should be regularly PAT Tested and the venue where the event is being held should have insurance and a licence to have electrical equipment brought into their venue.
Retro Video Gaming where it all began
Pixels Against Cancer
It all started back in September 2018 with a Retro Video Gaming Charity Event called “Pixels Against Cancer”.
The event was raising money for Cancer Research UK and was a huge success with over £530 raised in one afternoon. The event was held in the function room of The Waverley Pub in Bognor Regis.
There were 13 game stations with systems consisting of Atari, Sega, Commodore, Raspberry Pi and many more. People from all over Bognor Regis and beyond came to play classic retro video games such as PAC Man, Space Invaders, Pong and have a go on the Dance Mat. A lot of fun was had and a lot of money was raised through gameplay, a raffle, and a cake stall.
The event was advertised in the local Bognor Observer paper and the Bognor Post as well as on local radio stations SAM FM and Spirit FM.
Pixels At The Waverley – Monthly Retro Video Gaming Event – February & March
After the success of the charity fundraiser Pixels Against Cancer, My Special Event is hosting a monthly retro video gaming event called Pixels At The Waverley. This was for 2 months in February and March.
Held in the pub’s function room, every last Sunday of the month a selection of game stations will be available for all ages and abilities.
The event started on Sunday 24th February between 3 pm and 6 pm. Entry is £3.00 for three hours, with under 5’s free.
There was also live music provided by local bands.
